Launched in April 2004 with data collected since October 2003, the Monster Employment Index is a broad and comprehensive monthly analysis of U.S. online job demand conducted by Monster Worldwide, Inc.
Based on a real-time review of employer job opportunities culled from a large, representative selection of corporate career sites and job boards, including Monster, the Monster Employment Index presents a snapshot of employer online recruitment activity nationwide.

Monster Local Employment Index
The Monster Local Employment Index presents a snapshot of employer online recruitment activity in the top 28 U.S. markets with the largest working populations. In an effort to present a single, comprehensive snapshot of U.S. national and local online recruitment trends each month, findings for the top 28 U.S. metro markets are reported as part of the monthly findings of the national Monster Employment Index.
Monthly data tables for each of the 28 markets will be made available for download on the same day the Monster Employment Index findings are published.

The Monster Employment Index Europe provides country-specific data measuring online job demand in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Monthly findings are based on a real-time review of employer job opportunities culled from a large, representative selection of corporate career sites and job boards, including Monster®, believed to be representative of employer activity within the five countries.

The Monster Employment Index Canada provides Canadian labour market watchers with a quarterly snapshot of online job demand across Canada. The Index offers a comprehensive measurement of online job availability by province, city and occupations based on real-time data culled from Monster Canada and other major Web sites believed to be representative of employer online recruitment activity nationwide.
As the first Index to measure Canadian online hiring activity on a national scale, the Monster Employment Index Canada provides a new perspective on job availability presently not covered by a standard metric. Compared to existing indices, the Index highlights the continuously growing trend toward the Internet as the recruiting medium of choice for both companies and candidates.
